Overview

AM Mechanical is a nationally based design/build mechanical contractor, specifically focused on the installation of commercial HVAC systems. We service customers across several different industries, including commercial laundry, manufacturing, plastics, clean room, food & beverage, cosmetics/ pharmaceutical, and indoor vertical agriculture spaces.

As a commercial Pipefitter Foreman, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating and leading our on-site team as required to install turnkey mechanical process piping systems on active construction sites and operating process facilities. Responsibilities

  • Read and scale dimensions from blueprints to lay out for overhead piping and hangers in commercial facilities. This involves pulling dimensions off key building features (walls, columns, etc.…) and maintaining proper elevations to avoid conflicts with other building systems.
  • Planning and coordination with other site trades to avoid any upcoming and unforeseen conflicts.
  • Looking ahead and scheduling the work of crew as far as 3 weeks.
  • Inventorying material ahead of upcoming work to ensure all field employees have what they need to complete tasks.
  • Cooperating and working with Office/Project Managers to reach project completion to the customers satisfaction. 
  • Leading a team of field employees from anywhere between a 4-12 man crew while ensuring the correct and safe install of all specified piping systems.
  • Supervising and running the installation of a variety of piping system specifications, which may include but are not limited to:
    • Chilled Water Systems
    • Waste Water treatment Systems
    • Reclaim Water Systems
    • Compressed Air Systems
    • Steam Boilers
    • Natural Gas Systems
    • Packages RTU’s
    • Heat Exchangers
    • Steam Heaters
    • Experience in installing Weld pipe (butt weld, socket weld) threaded pipe, Propress, Victaulic , and lots of other pipe installation methods.
  • Layout, install, and assemble facility equipment per detailed drawings and specifications.
  • Work with journeyman pipefitters to accomplish daily tasks.
  • Establishes and adjusts work sequences to meet construction schedules utilizing knowledge of equipment capacities and assigned personnel.
  • Engages in problem solving with team members and other personnel on a construction site to ensure installation is coordinated and in line with customer quality expectations.
  • Operates and supervises operation of equipment and machinery such as forklifts, man lifts, and power tools.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, trade school
  • At least 10 years of experience installing various mechanical piping systems.
  • Have a working knowledge of the materials and the installation of each found in the mechanical construction industry.
  • Ability to travel to construction projects across the country on rotating schedule.
  • Able to work Monday-Saturday (10-hour days) with occasional evenings and Sundays as needed. Must be able to be flexible with work schedule.
  • Possess valid driver's license.

All successful candidates must have a valid driver's license and complete a criminal background check.
